Training Programs
We offer support across all stages of training and development, including:
- Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Obedience
- Behavior Modification and Problem Solving
- Puppy Training
- Therapy Dog Preparation
- Agility and Trick Training
- Rescue Dog Support and Adoption Integration
- All ages and experience levels are welcome
Behavior support includes challenges such as reactivity, anxiety, fearfulness, leash frustration, hyperactivity, potty training, and other behaviors that may be impacting daily life.
Private Training
Private training sessions are designed to address your specific questions and the behavioral challenges you are experiencing with your dog. We begin by discussing your goals and concerns, then introduce foundational canine behavior concepts and training theory in a clear, practical way. From there, we move into hands-on coaching, demonstrating simple and effective exercises for you to practice with your dog.
The first session is 90 minutes, with follow-up sessions lasting 60 minutes. Training can take place in your home or in public environments such as parks, depending on your dog’s needs and comfort level.
Board & Train Program
Our Board and Train program is designed to provide structured, immersive training in a real home environment, with stays ranging from 2 to 5 weeks. Additional weeks may be added as needed to best support each dog’s progress.
Following an initial Board & Train program, dogs are welcome to return for refresher stays or continued training at any time.
We offer pick-up and drop-off services, and also welcome and encourage owners to visit us in the Los Padres National Forest to stay involved in their dog’s progress.
While we strive to support a wide range of dogs, we are not able to accommodate cases of severe separation anxiety or severe dog aggression within the Board and Train program.
Living in a structured home environment with two trainers includes:
- Potty training and crate training
- House manners such as jumping, begging, chewing, barking, counter surfing, and overexcitement
- Foundational through advanced obedience with distraction-based generalization
- Socialization with people and other dogs when appropriate
- Regular hikes and outdoor enrichment in the surrounding National Forest
The Board & Train program also includes:
- A 90-minute session at drop-off to review goals and structure
- Two in-home follow-up sessions upon completion of the program
- Ongoing support and additional sessions available during the training stay
